Regional Drought Strategy

The South East Queensland region has experienced below average rainfall and inflows to regional water storages over the last decade.

Council, in response to the drought, confirmed its commitment by working with the Queensland Government and other Councils and water authorities to plan and manage our water resources collectively, as a growing region. We actively participated in the development of the External website link  SEQ Regional Water Supply Strategy, aimed at keeping water supply and demand balanced, for the next fifty years.

This regional approach through the South East Queensland Regional Water Grid maximises our water supplies in times of need, reducing reliance on one water catchment.
