Saving water

Australia is the driest inhabited continent in the world and is subject to unpredictable and extreme rainfall patterns, resulting in extended drought and flooding in the city. Consequently, water and its use has become an increasing concern within our community.

Gold Coast City is also challenged by a number of other factors, independent of the weather. These include:

  • a population that is forecast to double over the next 50 years, and
  • the ongoing need for new infrastructure and their environmental and social costs.
